Syringe and Multidose Vial
This approach is similar to the ampoule
application. The medication is provided in vials (small liquid
vessels) in predetermined quantities. The patient is first required
to add the solvent (sterile water) to the medication (powder)
within the vial. Application is then by self-injection using a
syringe.
Equipment
- Multidosevial
- Pre-filled syringe (2ml) of sterile
water
- One syringe with fixed needle, with
graduations in IU for subcutaneous injection
- Alcohol swabs
- Sharps container
